Kindergarten Socials
At the beginning of each school year, Kiddo! welcomes new Kindergarten families to the Mill Valley school district at Kindergarten Socials organized at each school. Socials take place on the day before school begins and are a free event.
Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival Food Booth
The Mill Valley Fall Arts Committee has been presenting the Fall Arts Festival in Old Mill Park for more than 50 years. For the past 15 years, Kiddo! has sold pizza and baked goods both as a fundraiser and as a community service. Be sure to check out the student art exhibit along with all the professional artists’ booths at this wonderful community event. This year the event will be held on September 15th & 16th, 2012.
Kiddo! Night at the Giants – May 4, 2012
Each May, the Middle School Chamber Choir is invited to perform the National Anthem at a San Francisco Giants game. Kiddo! reserves a block of 800+ tickets and invites the community to cheer on both our local chorus and the Giants. It is a great evening of fun, community and baseball! You must purchase tickets via the Kiddo! web site to sit with the Mill Valley group and for Kiddo! to get the donation. Watch this space for info on the 2012 game night.
Memorial Day Parade Float
Every year Kiddo! constructs a float for Mill Valley’s Annual Memorial Day Parade, featuring student musicians and Kiddo! supporters. Bring the family and join the fun!
Biennial Events:
Odd Years – Kiddo! Gala and Auction
Kiddo! organizes a Gala and Auction that features both a silent and live auction, dinner and dancing under a gigantic tent at the Mill Valley Community Center. The event attracts nearly 700 party-goers and raises between $150,000 and $250,000 for Kiddo! In addition to attending the party, individuals and businesses may donate to the auction. The next party will be held March 16th, 2013.
Intermittent Events: Golf Tournament, Memorial Day Celebration, Academy Awards Night
Periodically, Kiddo! organizes a fabulous golf tournament and banquet. It is a great day with lunch, golf, contests and prizes and culminates in an awards banquet in the evening. Foursomes play for the coveted Kiddo! Cup. In addition to playing, there are many opportunities for Tournament and Hole Sponsorships. Kiddo!’s next tournament will be held in the spring 2014.
Memorial Day is a big celebration in Mill Valley. For Kiddo!’s 25 Anniversary in 2007 and now for its 30th in 2012, Kiddo! will partner with the Mill Valley Park & Rec Department to line up a day of music and fun on Monday, May 28th.
Additionally, Kiddo! is involved in periodic events such as Harbor Point Charitable Foundation’s Academy Awards Night. We hope this will become an annual tradition.
